The Actors Lens
Every problem has people and institutions who are either working to solve the problem or keeping it in place.
When we look through the Actors Lens, we work to better understand the motivations and interests of these various groups.
Then we consider how the actors or their relationships might change to yield different results.
GETTING STARTED WITH THE ACTORS LENS
1. Who are the "usual suspects" in the world of your problem, the people and groups who everybody knows? Are there any new or different groups who have recently come on to the scene?
2. What are some of the most important similarities and differences among the groups involved in your problem?
3. Let's pretend that solving your problem relies upon a major change in behavior from just one group. Who do you think it would be and why?
